Hello parents, let me introduce myself. My name is Carlos Olivares,  I run the Isshinryu Karate program at the Shelby Recreation Center. If you and your child are new to martial arts, are just bored or looking for something that's exciting and fun, it’s great that you found us! 

The Isshinryu Karate for Kids program is different than other activities, it offers the whole family a chance to do something together that is worthwhile and beneficial. We boost your child’s Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence and Physical Fitness while

building vital life skills like Patience, Persistence, and a pro-active lifestyle. 

This program is a fun challenging activity where families improve focus, solve problems and set goals together, as well as learn to have a winner's attitude by being gracious in victory as well as in defeat.
